New Sanctuary at River of Life

The new sanctuary at The River of Life Christian Church is a concrete tilt-up structure. The project scope includes 28,600 s.f. of slab on grade and pan deck roof, stadium seating, stage slab wall, noise isolating insulation on the roof, and site-work. There are 11 concrete tilt-up panels ranging from 107,000 to 210,000 pounds each, totaling 2,130,000 pounds of panels that were lifted.

Challenges & Solutions

Because the project is so close to the San Jose International Airport, we had to get a permit from the Federal Aviation Administration for a large enough crane to lift the 47.25-foot tall concrete panels. This required extensive coordination between Bradley’s Safety Manager and Bigge Crane.
